Winsegansett Marshes was originally sold to the Fairhaven Acushnet Land trust in 1998 by Helen Silva whose family owned the 160 acre property for over eighty years. Neighboring properties- Shipyard Farm (52 acres) and Kempton Meadows (17) acres adjacent to Winsegansett Marshes are contiguous properties and cumulatively make up 230 acres of open space for recreation and enjoyment. The landscape is a mix of upland forest, freshwater marsh, saltmarsh, beach and dune. It's a truly spectacular and unique stretch of coastal landscape in Fairhaven and will be protected forever. Visitors are welcome to come explore the property from dawn to dusk. Bring your boots and binoculars and enjoy the magnificent coastal landscape of Fairhaven and outer New Bedford Harbor.
